Rainfall warnings have been issued for eastern Prince Edward Island.

A low-pressure system over the eastern Great Lakes will move to lie over the Bay of Fundy by Wednesday night. Rain ahead of this system will make its way into Prince Edward Island later Wednesday.

That has prompted Environment Canada to issue a rainfall warning for Queens and Kings counties on the Island.

Rain with this system is expected to be heavy at times with more than 50 millimetres possible by Thursday morning.

Rainfall warnings are also posted for southern New Brunswick, including Moncton and area, which could see 60 millimetres.

Up to 75 millimetres of rain is expected for parts of northern Nova Scotia and western Cape Breton, prompting rainfall warnings in that province as well.

This week’s rainstorm is the remnants of what was hurricane Isaac that lashed the U.S. coastline.

However, the rainfall warnings have nothing to do with tropical storm Leslie, which is churning in the Atlantic Ocean and could impact Atlantic Canada early next week.

Wow. It must be bad since its only raining under the umbrella. Based on the graphic PEI should be able to close the umbrella presto! - no rain.

Yeah, the umbrella logo was the second choice for the Liberal Party - the first was already taken - Island Coastal Services Ltd.
