A 25-year-old Charlottetown man is facing drug charges following an arrest in the city Sunday night.

Charlottetown Police Services received a complaint Sunday at 9:16 p.m. regarding an individual in possession of drugs. Police arrived at an area near Kensington Road and Linden Avenue and arrested the man, who police say, had drug on him.

The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

Hahaha. What a joke of a story, why would they even post this. Makes people (like applaud police) think they are actually doing something to stop drug trafficking. The reality is, biker gangs own the market on PEI and the police have no control over it. But it makes them look good when they post and article stating they found a man with "drug" pfffft. waste of a post.

Great work police officers. Great work by those who had the sense to report the guy. Lock them all up. Insist they get help for addictions. This will help stop our break ins, robberies, etc and in the long run save tax payer's dollars. I know we don't have the whole story but still think a job well done

who cares if a dummy sparks one walking down the street? i'm concerned about crack heads. sentences such as "...who police say, had drug on him" are about as vague as they come, so who knows what he was upto, or why this is even newsworthy? i mean if someone was shooting up on a park bench, of smoking crack, then yeah i understand... but who cares about it if it was a joint? a headline like "man arrested for smoking joint" would make us the laughing stock of the modern/mainstream Canada. i bet there is a whole lot of "man with drug" smoking joints right now as i write this in Charlottetown! hehe

I hear you there. Very vague indeed. I've seen people smoking crack, found needles and remnants of stolen goods. All beside a graffiti covered wall. Yet the police/nor the owners of the properties have ever done anything about it when it's pretty damn obvious what goes on. As for sparking one, go nuts but have some common sense. Do it somewhere not in public. It's still against the law.

Good job. Odd circumstances. Not too often people call the cops over someone having drugs on them. If I were a cop and knew someone was slinging drugs or had drugs on them, I would set up a complaint to be made. Just sayin. Then again it could have been a dummy thinking he could spark one while walking down the street.
