Musicians in Charlottetown are pooling their talent to raise funds for Japanese tsunami relief.
In the wake of the fatal tsunami and earthquake in Japan, some talented — and fast-acting — Island musicians are playing a coffee house at Timothy’s World Flavours from 2-5 tomorrow afternoon.
Those musicians include Milks and Rectangles and Boxer the Horse’s Christian Ledwell, Meaghan Blanchard, Cory Roper and Morgan Palmer, with local emerging act The Manifolds and VanWoes and Ryan Merry. All proceeds are going to the Red Cross.
"Tsunami relief is weighing on the minds of many,” said Palmer, who is performing a set in the fundraiser with her longtime partner, Roper. “I know that Charlottetown has a great number of global thinkers and I know this coffee house will be a huge success because of the community."
The recommended donation is $5, but generosity is encouraged.
