Opposition Leader Olive Crane's controversial Sunday shopping law has passed Third Reading but not before another divided vote.
Speaker Kathleen Casey had to break a second tie vote and she voted in favour of the bill which will allow businesses to open year round on Sundays.
This now means the bill will become law and Prince Edward Island stores will be allowed to open on Sundays 12 months of the year.
Last week, P.E.I. MLAs also split their vote on the proposed changes to the Retail Business Holidays Act with 13 MLAs voting for the bill and 13 MLAs voting against the bill.
Nobody changed their vote during voting on Third Reading tonight.
Crane and her three-member Opposition caucus supported the bill and made history in the process.
It’s rare that an Opposition bill ever gets the endorsement of the majority in the P.E.I. legislature.
Premier Robert Ghiz voted against the bill. He was joined by cabinet colleagues including Innovation Minister Allan Campbell, Labour Minister Janice Sherry, Agriculture Minister George Webster, Rural Development Minister Neil LeClair, Environment Minister Richard Brown, Health Minister Carolyn Bertram and Transportation Minister Ron MacKinley.

"everybody deserves sundays off!" ...except people who work at convenient stores and fast food, apparently?
