The Guardian's G! magazine has ceased publication.
The February/March edition of G! will be its last
The curtain has fallen on a magazine that prided itself on providing Prince Edward Island readers with a slightly irreverent, entertaining take on the world.
G! magazine has been published for the past six years. The February/March edition of G! will be its last.
“As we move forward in this ever-changing media landscape, we are constantly re-evaluating our products to ensure they continue to meet the needs of readers and advertisers,” said Nancy Johnson, director of operations for TC Media, the publisher of G!.
While G! will no longer be published, many of its great feature will live on.
Wayne Thibodeau, regional editor for TC Media in Prince Edward Island, said reader favourites, including chef Ilona Daniel, personal trainer Ryan Cairns, fashion adviser Kimberly Rashed and Keely Turner — who takes a fun look at pop culture through the eyes of an Island girl with big city attitude — will be part of a revamped entertainment section in The Guardian. Thibodeau said other writers may be included in the package in the weeks and months ahead.
That revamp will include a new look and an expanded entertainment listing, which will now include some of the hottest acts at bars and clubs across the province.
The changes will come into effect next month.
“These writers bring a fresh, new take on the world,” said Thibodeau.
“I am convinced readers of The Guardian in print, online and on our social media platforms will thoroughly enjoy these new additions. And we look forward to delivering a whole new audience to these writers.”
