Blue Rodeo performed in Summerside Thursday. The Canadian rock band has been announced as the headline act for the Aug. 2 Rock the Boat Music Fest in Tyne Valley.

Blue Rodeo will headline Tyne Valley's Rock the Boat Music Fest, Aug. 2.

The Canadian country rock band, which just had a successful performance in Summerside Thursday night, will return to Prince Edward Island to perform at the inaugural music festival at Green Park.

Rock the Boat Music Fest is part of the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival.

The festival also includes performances by Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea, Jimmy Rankin, Gordie MacKeeman and his Rhythm Boys and Meaghan Blanchard.

The first  200 tickets are $39.95. After those are sold, remaining tickets to the event are $49.95 and VIP passes, which includes a four-day pass to all Tyne Valley Oyster Festival events, complimentary oysters and special washrooms and parking areas, are going for $129.99. Ticket prices do not include HST and service charges.
