TORONTO - A colourful tribute to Canada's former finance minister will be lighting up the Toronto skyline this weekend.

The famed CN Tower will be turned green in honour of Jim Flaherty, who died suddenly Thursday at his home in Ottawa.

Flaherty was known for wearing green ties, especially on special occasions, as a nod to his Irish heritage.

Officials say the tower, which is frequently lit in different colours to commemorate special events and people, will be kept green for the whole weekend.

I have to agree with DMF. C Clarke not only made a classy statement, he is also dead on with his comment. If Jim Flaherty had taken Harper with him, it would have been the best thing he had ever done for our country.

That comment from C Clarke has "class" written all over it.

It is a shame he didn't take harper with him when he went!
