The Chinese Business Development Association of P.E.I. (CBDA) has announced that an international investment forum will be held Friday, July 24 at the University of P.E.I.
The forum will have two focuses — the high tech industry and tourism.
More than 40 investors from China, Canada, and the U.S.A. are expected to attend along with business and government leaders from P.E.I.
The forum will explore how to open the Chinese market to technologies and products from P.E.I. and will work to identify potential strategic partnerships. The gathering of business people will also discuss ways in which Chinese companies might engage with the North American markets.
Discussion will also focus on innovation and new technologies; green and environmental technologies; and P.E.I.’s tourism; making the province a prime tourist destination.
A news release says the P.E.I. International Investment Forum will provide opportunities to build bridges between newcomer Chinese business people and existing Island enterprises and P.E.I. government departments. As well, the forum will offer the prospect for better communication and cooperation between the business worlds of China and Canada.
