Information Session Seeks to Educate on Reducing Collection Efforts

SUMMERSIDE — The Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an information session on reducing the time it takes to chase receivables.

Contractors, sub-contractors, mechanics, tradespeople, farmers, fisherman and anyone else who is interested is encouraged to take part in the event 7 p.m. May 21 at 7 p.m. at the Quality Inn in the Dunning Room.

There will be a variety of speakers during the session that will offer expertise from their profession including: Paul J. Cyr, CCP, sales manager, ACA Credit Services; Jeff Cormier, insolvency lawyer, Key Murray Law; Matt Munro, trustee, Grant Thornton; and Alton Bubar, owner, Island Asset Recovery Inc. and organizer of the event.

The event will cover topics such as why a written contract is essential, how to write a contract that will ensure you get paid, how to better manage your accounts receivables in order to avoid bad debt and improve your cash flow, how to develop solutions to roadblocks that will improve your collection ratios using real-world scenarios, how creditors view bankruptcy and insolvency, how to register a lien properly and the danger of buying liened assets and how to avoid them.
