Night and day, wherever you are, follow all the news in Prince Edward Island thanks to the mobile version of our site, www.theguardian.pe.ca.

When accessing it with your iPhone, BlackBerry or Android smart phone, you will automatically be redirected to the mobile version where you will find all our news stories as well as our photo and video content.

Our journalists are always at their post everywhere in Prince Edward Island to provide you with the best of information with complete and captivating coverage. Also, thanks to this new platform, you will be able to easily share our content on social media, including Facebook and Twitter, so it's up to you to get the news out!

Wayne Thibodeau, news editor for new media and innovation with The Guardian, says this is an exciting new platform, one which Prince Edward Island residents are already using in droves.

"Everything you need to know is now in the palm of your hand," said Thibodeau.

"You can access our headline news, read the comments from our readers, get the latest weather forecast, view our photos and slideshows and watch our video... anywhere, anytime."

The launch of our site's mobile version is part of an initiative by TC Media, which is launching mobile versions for more than 160 of its dailies, weeklies and independent partners in Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario, and western Canada.

Thibodeau said readers can also access the full print edition of The Guardian by downloading The Guardian's app from the Apple store.

The Guardian's digital edition allows readers to view a digital replica of the print edition from anywhere in the world.

Flip from page to page, pan and zoom in on any article, photo or ad, then have a story open in a full text box so it is easy to read on any smart phone.

Already a print subscriber, The Guardian is pleased to offer full access to the digital edition at no additional cost.

This should be a free service. After all the Guardian is supported by advertising dollars. They should not even be charging for the printed version since they are making tons off of the advertising. But hey, if you will pay it, they will charge it and collect it. Personally I would not pay for the app.

An chance of an Android version of the digital replica edition? Android phones now outsell Apple (iOS) phones, and I can't read my paid-for digital Guardian on the road on my Samsung.

App is lacking information on how much the monthly subscription fee is after the 7 day trial. I, like most people, appreciate knowing up front what fees are. Please advise.
