Time Swiftly passes. In less than a Month Christmas will have come and Gone.

Our troops who are currently on deployment far from home, are now preparing for Christmas Celebrations with their Brothers in Arms, with thoughts of families and loved ones at home. May God protect them and returm all safely home.

In Canada familes and Loved ones will be celebrating Christmas as well, this being our Invisible Army in their homes the member of the family that is away will be foremost in hearts and minds. Children will celebrate Santa's arrival without their Mom or Dad. I pray that for these young ones especially that all return safely to their homes.

So as we fast approach Christmas please take an extra moment or two to think about our troops and their familes.

Sadness continues for War Widow of Sgt. Robert Alan Short, was one of the first two Canadian soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

He and Cpl. Robbie Christopher Beerenfenger, 29, of Ottawa died and three others were injured when their vehicle hit a landmine in Kabul.

'I am so disappointed in my government.' Susan Short, military widow Two men were arrested in connection with the bombing. But sources have told CBC News that the Canadian Forces turned the men over to Afghan authorities and lost track of them.

Susan Short said she felt she should have been told by the military.

Three soldiers injured in the blast that killed Short's husband were Cpl. Cameron Lee Laidlaw, 25, of Oromocto; Master Cpl. Jason Cory Hamilton, 33, of Regina; and Cpl. Thomas Stirling, 23, of Assiniboia, Sask.

All five soldiers were with the 3rd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment, based in Petawawa, Ont.

Sgt.R. A Short RIP Soldier

Justice is all this proud wife is seeking in remembrance of her Hero and his fallen brother in arms:He and Cpl. Robbie Christopher Beerenfenger. I feel that this case should have seen a trial years ago. Rather than worrying about the transfers of legitimate POW`s to the Afghan Authorities. NATO plans are for the Afghans to self rule. That should include allowing to handle their own prisoners.

Remember Everyone Deployed

Christmas can be a very sad time of the year, especially when families are thousands of miles away from each other. Missing your new baby's first Christmas or just waking up Christmas Day in a strange country and not being surrounded by your loved ones is also very difficult. I know members of the military are one big huge family and they make the best of it, giving each other morale support. Bless you all for what your are doing whether in Canada, on a ship, over in a war zone or any other country where Canadian Soldiers are posted. Thank you, God bless you all and Merry Christmas.
