Thankyou to the Few and True, Red Rally Friday

Merci Beaucoup.

Today I attended the PEI Red Rally in Charlottetown. I had told people that I would be very upset with a poor turnout. Well in speaking with the supporters who did show up. I have learned that as they say small is beautiful. A crowd of fifty or so showed up at the Rally. Those that came were Mothers, Fathers, Wives, friends and both serving members and veterans of the military family. Humbled I realised that far better than a crowd of 4 or 5 hundred the Family members and people that really care about supporting our troops came together to show support. To those people I Thankyou for your visible support.

A proud mother spoke of her daughter and son in law who have just returned safely after their second tour of duty. She shared the personal feeling of phone calls at late hours from a loved one that just needed to hear someone from the sanity of home, after an especially difficult day or week in the front lines.

A Warrant Officer from the PEI regiment spoke about the difficulties in obtaining leave of absence from his day job. He is about to leave his family on the first of December for a tour of duty in Afghanistan.

All in all a mere handful of people,BUT they were the few true supporters of the troops. I salute you and thank you again.

WO.McDonald departing 01 Dec Godspeed , a safe journey and safe return to the arms of your loved ones.

Charlene and WO McDonald.

Captain Terry Hunter of PEI currently serving in The Sudan.

Last but certainly not least a big Thank you to Charlene McInnis and her volunteers for setting up such a great event.

Thanks team.

Not much support for that war Robbie. God bless the troops and hopefully they'll get out of that spot sooner than later.
