Sadly another Combat veteran of the 3rd PPCLI is killed

M/Cpl Erin Doyle of the third Battalion PPCLI, was killed today by enemy fire. A combat veteran on his third tour of Afghanistan died when his out post was attacked by these mindless zealots of the taliban.

Brigadier General Denis Thompson said of M/CplDoyle, Erin was a big, tough, mountain of a man who enjoyed the outdoors, Thompson said.

He was a true warrior and just the person you would want beside you in a firefight.

Sadly this brave soldier has left behind his wife Nicole and his daughter Zarine, he is the 90th Canadian soldier to die since the Afghan mission began in 2002. This was his third tour in Afghanistan.

To his wife, daughter, family, friends and his brothers in arms I send deepest condolences and prayers. Thankyou for being the brave soldier that you were.

On yet another note The sailors of HMCS Charlottetown raised in excess of $61,000 for the Childrens Wish Foundation. Thankyou

PLEASE show your support for our troops and men like M/Cpl Doyle and his un named brother in arms who was seriously wounded during this attack. God Bless and God speed his recovery.

I learned of Erin's passing yesterday when my daughter-in-law called. My son is currently deployed and had called her with the sad news. Erin and my son have been close friends since their 2002 deployment together.

Rest in Peace Erin. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

P.S. Thank you Robby for all that you do to support our family members serving in the military!!
