As Canada Day approaches I take the opportunity to reflect on a few things.(as Bloggers are wont to do).
Firstly: to all the people who have taken the time to write comments on articles, and to discuss other comments made. Thankyou.
Even John should appreciate that being a member of the Canadian family, is the main reason he feels free to make comments that others disagree with. This is a right of Canadians, for this he should be thankfull. Other comments from frequent readers, Ed, Charlene, Eric, LA,Trish,Rob, Rex to name a few instill the freedom of speech, and try to advise or reason with less informed people. We are all remiss on some terminology, statistics and yes even the media. I for one had to ask a learned friend of mine Ed of Newfoundland what the Term DD Trolls meant. Apparently it is from a kid's game of Dungeons and Dragons. Thanks Ed. I guess I missed that game over the years.( a little note for John, we tried to send you information as requested but the e- address came up as not known) if you desire information John a true e mail address is essential.
Secondly: The primary intent of this Blog was to align with members of our military and specifically the Afghanistan Mission. I feel that this has bloomed and blossomed into an informative Blog. Thanks again to The Commentors It was also meant as a pipeline into understanding our troops their mission, their worries and indeed the need to feel supported by Canadians.
Thirdly: I for one look forward to the sitreps that will be sent by Captain Terry Hunter from the Sudan as he departs on yet another mission on behalf of Canada and Canadians. God speed and a safe journey and mission Captain.
Fourthly: Last but not least I will be Blogging from various parts of Canada in July. I have taken advantage of the Free Travel offer from Via Rail for Military Members their families (The Silent Army) and Veterans and their Families. I will be meeting up in Vets I have served with in past years many whom I have not seen in person for over 30 years. A great Cook Georgie Girling who resides 9 months of the year in Vietnam and 3 months in Chilliwack. Dave Davies, Mel Limey Williams to name but a few. I will visit with my son Mike and his family in Ont. as well as my daughter Stephanie in Victoria BC . Thankyou to Via rail for this opportunity to travel across our Broad land from Sea to shining Sea As I travel East to West and return a, pair of old Trucker Comrades from Germany and other places Donnie Cappler and Wayne Wannamaker will be completing the return Journey from West to East
As I close this entry Please Remember our Troops who are not going to be home with Families and Loved ones this Canada Day, as they serve around the Globe.
