Remembrance Day 11 Nov Lest We Forget
As we bid farwell to the men and women serving onboard our naval frigate HMCS Charlottetown Their Motto is All Challenges Squarely Met We wish them God Speed, Smooth Sailing and a safe return home. A team of Runners from this vessel ran the 2007 Run 4 Wishes 4 Day Run, here on the Island tip to tip raising funds for the Children's Wish Foundation. We hope to see them again next year safe and sound and ready to enjoy the Island Scenery and hospitality.
For hundreds of years now the wives, husband's, parents, friends of ship crews have said their goodbyes from Halifax. The latest being the crew of our Multi Role Patrol Frigate, sailing off for a seven month tour of Duty in the Arabian sea. These men and women will be serving Canada as part of the multinational taskforce serving in Operation Enduring Freedom This crew will not only miss Christmas, New Years and Easter with their families but birthdays and new births and deaths as they serve far away.
The current crew has 6 PE Islanders on board as part of this crew.
As in all operations the Silent Warriors will be at home coping with life and worrying about their loved one. As we enjoy life in Canada please say a little prayer or spare a thought for these Sailors and their Families.
A reminder Today is RED FRIDAY !!
