Some News for Discussion !!

Remembrance day Nov 11 Lest we Forget.

Please join in the RED RALLY 02 Nov Friday At the Memorial Fountain In Charlottetown 12 noon. If you cannot attend spare a thought for the troops serving far away from home.

This past week has been one of many news stories polls etc about Afghanistan. I would like to open for discussion, your thoughts on three of these stories.

Firstly, another young soldier Cpl Matthew Wilcox has been charged with manslaughter. As sad and tragic this is to both families. I cannot help but think that if both M/Cpl Fraser and Cpl Wilcox were of the Islamic faith. The forgiveness from both families of the deceased would not allow the two to be charged. Strange how both Islam and Christianity allow forgiveness but to different degrees. Your opinions are looked forward to.

Secondly as Halloween approaches UNICEF has released a distressing report about Afghan Children they are in their greatest peril since 2004. Due to the fact that the breadwinners of many families have been killed or imprisoned. The full report is well worth reading and is available at cbc.ca Children are lacking in food, clothing, education and just generally lacking in Love and caring.

Third but by no means less important NIQUAB's. The following pictures I feel emphasise the need for stringent changes to Canadian law. As an immigrant Canadian myself I realise the importance of immigrants adherng to Canadian lifestyles and laws. Imagine if you were a soldier seeing these Niquab's on the street. Is it covering a man or a woman??, is it covering a faithfulI Islamist, or a SUICIDE Bomber. Our troops face these decisions on a daily basis.

I am a firm believer in freedom of Religion however Times Change and our Government should place certain restrictions on the wearing of items of clothing that completely disguise some one. Your opinions and comments welcome.
