A wonderful Visitor at the MFRC

Today Charlene McInnis hosted her weekly Coffee break for the families and friends of our PEI troops currently serving in Afghanistan and other parts of the world. She called everyones attention to a striking Blonde Lady who entered the room. It was Mrs Harper the wife of our Prime Minister. She came to say hello to families and members of the forces who were present at the coffee break. She was a gracious lady who spoke with each and everyone present Including Cpl Tyler Coady who recently returned from Afghanistan. Mrs Harper even took the time from her busy Schedule to have her photo taken with each and everyone that wished it.

Mrs Harper undestands the families and their concerns as a wife and mother. She was accompanied by our MND G.O'Conner who also had words with everyone present.

On behalf of the families who attended todays coffee break, our thanks to Mrs Harper for taking the time to visit with us,and also a Big Thankyou and well done to the MFRC Co-ordinator Charlene McInnis.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO WEAR RED TODAY FRIDAY

It was an exciting day at the PEI MFSC..
MND O'Connor and Mrs. Harper's impromptu visit to the Centre to meet and greet our CF members and families of those deployed went a long way in showing PE Islanders that their dedication and commitment as part of the Military community is, indeed, appreciated and very highly regarded...MND O'Connor spoke with returned soldiers Cpl. Tyler Coady and Capt. Andy Pitre as well Margie Tessallar who was representing the family of WO Frank Mellish and personally thanked them for their service to our Country...Mrs. Harper was very approachable and gracious, taking time for conversation and pictures with everyone in attendance.....It was an absolute pleasure to welcome and meet them and on behalf of everyone at the PEI Military Family Services Centre I would like to thank Mr. O'Connor and Mrs. Harper for recognizing the strength that exists within the families of those deployed...they are our Invisible Army .
