Military Blog Site - with Robby McRobb Blog

A bit of a Ramble !

Good Day to the readers of this Blog. Thanks especially to the people who are concerned enough to enter their thoughts and opinions. As a retired soldier, a Canadian, and a Global Citizen. My heart aches for the families of all those young men and women that have lost their lives in the service of Canada. As much as I believe that soldiers, sailors and airmen both men and women must go where duty calls. I am starting to have second thoughts of the Afghanistan mission. I do not want to see this as Canada's Vietnam going on for years and years. Losing the youth of our country who have chosen to serve in our military.

I personally would like to visit our troops and get their ideas and thoughts about this mission. I am leaning more and more towards the idea of a mission complete in 2009 and let other NATO countries take their share of duty in this conflict.

We see now drive by shootings of girls attending school in Kabul. This is seriously detrimental to the rebuilding of Afghanistan. We may rebuild the roads but to rebuild a culture is nigh on impossible.

I pray that our troops are successful and that they all return home soon.

Just my ramblings for today,

SUPPORT our TROOPS tie a YELLOW RIBBON, wear RED on FRIDAYS. and pray in Church, Synagogue, Temple or Mosque whenever or wherever you may pray.

I have never had any doubts at all. Canadian troops should not be there. We are losing to many good soldiers for little gain. I am not associated in any way with the military nor know anyone personally.
