With NATO constantly bombing Gaddafi and his gang, He is still standing strong in the eyes of may of his supporters. The amount of our Tax dollars being wasted daily on bombing raids seem not be working.
The UK has now said that perhaps if Gaddafi surrenders he and his family could remain living in Libya with no charges nor retribution. Hmmmmmm this sounds very strange that NATO would even consider this. Howver perhaps it will cease their bombing an dallow some sort of peace to come from within the Libyan population.
William Hague's volte-face on Libya was no surprise. The only wonder is it took so long. France, a key campaign ally, gave ground last week, conceding that Muammar Gaddafi could stay in his country providing he surrender power. Other Nato allies, such as Italy, Libya's former colonial power, have reached a similar position. With Barack Obama out to lunch, Britain was out on a limb. Hence the climbdown.

As for Afghhanistan as the security for this country is handed over to the Local Police and Army, the taliban have re energised and are attacking ferociously into all areas where ISAF Troops have moved out of.
I for one am very happy that our Combat Troops are home. Yet we as a Nation are still divided on Canada's Military. If it were not for these young men and women defending our freedoms on Land Sea and in the air, then perhaps we would be under threat of extremists, The mad man in Oslo also mentions Canada in his rambling manifesto and our first line oif defence is our Military.
I received this e mail and Video link from a former apprentice and Parfatrooper of the Canadian Airborne Regiment. a memory of 1974 in Cyprus. A fews days late on my part Sorry Joe and all the brave men of Canada's Airborne Regiment.
Dear Robby:
This is what I send out yesterday to the old Paras.
Some 37 the years ago the AB Regt , 1 CDO witnessed the Turkish invasion on Cyprus. For all of 1 CDO who were on the outpost, we were barely a few hundred meters from the Turkish Airborne assaults. Many of you will remember the F-100's strafing runs and flying super low over the UN positions ...and the roar and the smell of their hot jet exhaust on full afterburners and the hundreds of spent 20 mm casing falling on the roof of MLM.
Remember July 20th 1974 ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjGKnvXzm30&feature=related
This picture here including and the video will bring memories of when us boys turned into men quickly or died trying (or in the best case were wounded trying to stay alive)
We the Airborne Regiment Paratroopers are very proud of our accomplishments.
As always...
Fair winds and soft landings,
Airborne! Joe
Please show support to our TRoops wherever they may be serving.

Robby
