I was honoured today in Victoria to attend the unveiling of Canada’s Portraits of Honour Mural.
It was a moving ceremony to prepare people for this symbolic mural.
The morning started with members of 3 Cav Victoria leading the semi and his trailer onto the grounds of the BC Legislature.
This was followed by the band of HMCS NAden marching onto the lawn. They were leading the Legion Colour Party and serving members of our military. (CFB Esquimalt)
The ceremony was simple and sad as we remember the 157 troops that have paid the ultimate price in Afghanistan.
Canadians may view this Mural in many cities , towns and Villages in Canada over the next few months.

The artist Dave Sopha has dedicated the past few years to creating this wonderful Mural of Remembrance.
Nichola Goddard our first female fatality in Afghanistan is front and centre in this Mural.
As a member of Canadas Invisible Army. I share the sadness and joys of our military.
These young men and women gave their all for Canada and Canadians trying to give freedom to Afghan men women and children.
Thank you Dave Sopha for this wonderful tribute. It may depict our fallen but it is also a memorial to all our troops who have served on this mission.
I tried to add a few Photos but Cyberspace did not allow, so please open the PDf to see them. Thank You
Please Support our troops and their families.
