RIP young Trooper Richard Jankowski

This is a story deep in sadness a young 25 year old Trooper from Petawawa took his own life a few days ago. This young Cpl had served in Afghanistan but came home a depressed broken man. Although he was uninjured physically the mental strain of Afghanistan took its sad toll.

There a many young men returning from the  horrors and carnage of Afghanistan that sorely need help.

In my time in the military, you were expected to return home from places like the Congo, Rwanda and Somalia with a cheery face and disposition.

Today a young soldier should feel no retribution if he needs a hand mentally or physically. We must treat the injured minds and pschycis as well as the amputees and physically wounded soldiers.

May his soul find peace with his God and his fellow soldiers who have moved on to the advance party. Richard Jankowski a Trooper from CFB Petawawa. Here is the link to this tragic story, may his Mother and loved ones find peace within.

Meanwhile on the second front in North Africa, our air and naval forces are keeping up their great work. They are all troops to be proud of Canada.

Please show support to our troops and their families.

So very sad.RIP. This kind of thing seems to be a growing problem within the CF!When you tour is done you come home to your base and forgotten! The CF has set up centers all across Canada but how much are they really doing? Not much has changed. They supply some good paying jobs for people but the truth is they have no clue how to operate this centers. The warning signs were there for this kid but the support failed him.I thank god everyday that I got out safe and sound and you know it's true what they say when you leave the CF, they slam the door on you and you must fend for yourself. My 12 year old said to me that he was thinking about what he wanted to do when he grew up was join the CF.I took him aside and had a long chat with him and explained what happens when they turn there back on you and he asked me how they can do that.I still have no words to explain to him. Then read stories like this one and it bring me back to the same old story on how they still don't care as long as they get the work out of you!Someday when the topic comes up again with my son I'll save all these stories on a disk and let him read them someday and he will fine out for himself what alot of people already no that your support does not go very far from home.Sorry to have let you down Trooper.
