The Canadian Commander of the Libyan Mission states:
The commander of NATO's Libya operation says the alliance is determined to keep up the pace of its bombing campaign, which is entering its fourth month.
Canadian Lt. Gen. Charles Bouchard said on Tuesday that any scaling down of the daily airstrikes was "not appropriate."
NATO's campaign was intended to deliver a sharp, devastating blow against Moammar Gadhafi's forces and enable the opposition to quickly oust his regime. But with the campaign dragging on inconclusively, there have been increasing international calls for a negotiated end to the conflict.
The NATO operation was originally authorized for a 90-day period, which expires on Tuesday. The alliance's governing body has extended it for three more months.
FYI: This how the Afghan Mission Started.
With our latest Canadian Soldier M/Cpl Roy returning home in a flag draped Casket for his final journey along the "Highway of Heroes" perhaps it is time for our Government to have a re think aboyt Col Ghadaffi and his band of terrorists.
Sadly our current Government has yet to see that the uprisings in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon are all the same as Liby, Iraq, and Afghanistan. A non win situation for NATO troops.
On a happier note I received this PDF e mail from a friend in Stratford PEI Debbie Reid It may make you laugh it may make you thing or both.
enjoy
Have a GREAT CANADA DAY and please keep our Troops and their families in mind and in your heart.
