" Ready Aye Ready " HMCS Charlottetown

HMCS Charlotte Smooth Sailingtown

This morning there were tears , hugs and prayers as another Canadian Naval Vessel deployed for a dangerous area of the world. My personal thoughts and prayers go out to our Naval Crews and their families. Swift journey, smooth sailing and may the Lord return you all safely to the arms of your loved ones.

" Ready Aye Ready " is certainly an appropriate motto for the Naval Services.

HMCS Charlottetown has been despatched to the shores of Libya, There they will provide, many services on behalf of the world. Communications, Medical Aid, Arial Reconnaisance. Also they will assist any Canadian national that is still trapped in Libya and are ready to evacuate.

Sadly an aircraft from Canada was turned away from Tripoli airport yesterday.

This madman Muamarr Ghadaffi  is acting more like Daffy duck than a leader.( albeit a Dictator) He seems to have completely lost the Plot. With Civil war and Chaos looming ahead in the next few days.

Never the less our troops once again step into the breech. Alongside UK,US and French military.

This web site appropriately named may be of great interest to Canadians interested in our Navy.

We currently have a frigate on Pirate Duties of shore Somalia, our Naval personnel certainly are busy.

All three services are actively engaged Army fighting and training in Afghanistan, Naval enroute to Libya plus patrolling the Arabian Sea for pirates and off shore USA on Drugpatrol. LAst but not least our aircrews, operating in Afghanistan, in Malta, and on duty here at home with Search and Rescue.

At this time in our History we have much to be Proud of. Please remember our Troops and their families .

Received this e mail last night. I am happy to see that a provincial MLA is interested in our military. CHARLOTTETOWN - Progressive Conservative Party Leader Olive Crane is extending warm wishes for a safe journey to the crew of the HMCS Charlottetown which left the port of Halifax today to help evacuate Canadians from Libya. “Prince Edward Islanders share a special relationship with the HMCS Charlottetown and its crew members who visit our capital city every year. Members of the crew have participated and supported the “Run 4 Wishes” relay across our province for the past eight years and raised thousands of dollars for our local Children’s Wish Foundation.” Crane noted as well, that many Islanders and visitors have enjoyed the opportunity to tour the city’s namesake ship and to even participate in some mock maneuvers in the Charlottetown harbor. “We wish the 240 Armed Forces personnel aboard this ship a safe journey and a safe return to their families,” said Crane. “We applaud their work not only in Canada but around the world and look forward to their arrival in their home port of Charlottetown, again this summer.”

    Help with the clean up
    - March 3, 2011 at 07:03:40

While I think we will get there a little late we sure will help with the clean up.It nice to see the Navy get over there to help with everything, they may sit behind and wait for the US and UK to do the thing.Although, this is a civil thing and outside forces must stay out until the last possible minute. The whole middle east is ready to go and countries that rely on there oil are going to feel it!We should be putting the 35 billion into navy ships instead of aircraft that we don't need!Think about this, if there is a threat from the air does anyone thinks that US is going to sit back and watch Canada get bombed.Anyway, stay safe troops!
