Merry Christmas One and All

Christmas Prayers

T.was the Night Before .......

Merry Christmas and God Bless

To all Blog readers and especially to those members of the Invisible army at this time of year. For readers  who may have missed the CBC story of the children in Petawawa here is the link:

This video was wonderful  coverage of  Christmas time at a military base. At this particular school in Petawawa 10 children will be with out a parent this Christmas. The parent is a serving soldier stationed in Afghanistan. This interview with teachers but primarily with the children is bittersweet. A young boy and a girl no more than 8 talked about the possibility that Dad would be wounded or worse still killed.

I have written many times about the stress that members of the invisible army face daily. It is sad thet a child should be stressed about a parent anywhere let alone serving Canada in a far flung he** hole.

The teachers most of whom are military spouses, spoke of the nearness and camaraderie of families on a base. This is all part of the military fabric of Canada. Whether Mom or Dad is serving at sea, Kandahar or any other place on the Globe. The Sudan comes to mind. We have soldiers. Sailors and air personnel  serving Canada Globally. So this Christmas please keep the families in mind as well as our serving personnel.

I personally would like to thank Melissa Fung of the CBC for her, video interviews at CFB Petawawa.

To everyone please have a safe Happy Christmas, with family if possible.

To our serving Canadians May God protect you and keep you safe from Harm. May you return safely to the arms of your loved ones.
