I am not sure if today’s Meanderings and musings will be in Monday's edition as it is Labour Day, but here goes.
Here in the East cleanup is going on after the passing of Hurricane Earl. Sadly there is an unannounced cleanup of operations going on in Afghanistan.
The whys and wherefores are covered in this in depth article: http://www.nationalpost.com/news/canada/story.html?id=1737628
Another group of parents and loved ones were transported to Kandahar, courtesy of our Government. There to pay respects to a son, daughter, husband, wife son or daughter. This is a much appreciated gesture within the invisible army. Although their loved ones are buried at home and Resting in Peace these family members can see the place their loved one worked and relaxed in. Perhaps for some it may ease the grief to see some of the GOOD projects that Canada has been involved with. Schools, Clinics, Road building and Dam reconstruction to mention but a few.
Bravo Zulu to our Minister of Defence for this worthwhile initiative of a visit by families.
At home a ceremony onboard HMCS Fredericton moored at Toronto Harbour.

Last but by no means least, as a News a Holic I surf through many many media sites. On TV the only company that shows a support your troops Ribbon is Maritime Global Thanks for that and for CBC and CTV get a grip and show your support for Canadians and their families.
May the Lord watch over our troops as they go about their dangerous missions. Whether on Land, Sea or in the Air.
