Sapper Brian Collier enroute to the Highway of Heroes

Military Blog returns to the Blogosphere

Sapper Brian Collier Canadian Engineers Rest in Peace

First my apologies for the delay in writing this Blog in the new updated format. Due to a comedy of errors it was not available. I would like to thank Jocelyn at the Guardian for meeting with me and setting me straight on the new site. I will endeavour to improve with the site.

Sadly an all to familiar scene in kandahar. Yesterday in Darkness the Piper played a lament for the repatriation of another Canadian Soldier. Sapper Brian Collier a young soldier who was a hero to othr engineers at Kandahar.

When Sgt Gouldrought was cut down by an ied. Sapper Collier was partof the team. He was thrown clear but deafened. He quickly took control of the scene telling the others to stand fast. While he cleared a path for tje medics to render assistance to his Sgt. Sadly Sgt Gouldrought did not make it.

During his recovery Sapper Collier was determined to return to full duty. This he did but he too was cut down by an ied.

As his family awaits their hero's flag draped casket at CFB Trenton. They will then somberly and with Honour take the drive alon the Highway of Heroes.

may he FRest in peace and may his family find solace in the sight of Canadians paying their respects.

Please honour our troops and show them your pride.
