The cooler side of the jet stream set record low temperatures across the region this week, but that is about to change. A frontal line, tracking eastward from Ontario, will bring some showers and a wind shift to the south tonight. Unless you live along a south-facing coastline, that is going to turn up the heat – at least a little.
The next line of weather will come on the leading edge of a warm front; the chance of showers will be low but the humidity will be high. Humidex or “feel-like” temperatures will soar during the latter part of the weekend and reach the mid to upper 30s on Monday and Tuesday.
The muggy air mass will be pushed aside by an approaching cold front. The lift on the front will cause the hot, humid air mass to become very unstable and thundershowers are likely in the transition. While the front is expected to lower the humidity, air temperatures will remain above seasonal values for the week.
