This majestic bird was spotted in Port Morien N.S. on Monday. The great egret is described as an elegant heron with white plumage, black legs and a yellow bill that have earned it the nickname of golden slippers.
Great egrets nest regularly up to southern Maine but appear in Nova Scotia yearly as spring overshoots. Katherine MacDonald surmises that he was self-isolating!
