A daily walk is not only good for you it can lead you to some pretty interesting sites. The other, while walking his dog, Michael Dunn noticed a pile of small new potatoes sitting on a tree stump on Young Ave. at Atlantic Street in Halifax. Once he got a little closer, he realized that they were mushrooms. Michael surmises they must have bloomed in response to recent rain and fog.
Did you know: Because mushrooms have no leaves, roots or seeds and don't need light, they're not a true vegetable? However, in terms of nutrition, they are considered to be vegetables.
