May heat makes temperature records tumble

Layers came off quickly as mid-summer heat flooded the region yesterday. A steady southwesterly circulation around a well-positioned Bermuda High will continue to pull in unseasonably warm air. While this early taste of summer is welcomed by many, we desperately need some rain. I'm watching two weather systems that will bring some relief from the very dry conditions. The first is expected to move through Saturday to Sunday and the next one will bring us a good soaking on Tuesday.
