PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND: Fair weather ahead of a messy Sunday

A cluster of fair weather systems tracking across the region will serve up pleasant January weather for a few days. Temperatures have warmed to above seasonal values but will cool a little heading into the weekend. The weekend is going to be split down the middle, with sunshine on Saturday and a sloppy mix of weather Sunday into Monday. The rain/snow line has shifted in the last 18 hours and it's likely to shift again. As things stand, the heaviest snow will fall from Fredericton north and over western Newfoundland. I am concerned about the risk of freezing rain on Sunday. Stay tuned.
