CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The UPEI Panthers put up a valiant effort against the Acadia Axewomen, but lost 53-18 in Atlantic University Sport women’s rugby playoff action Friday in Wolfville, N.S.

Acadia moves on to face St. FX in the final Friday at St. FX. Both teams go to the U Sports national championship Nov. 2-5 in Lethbridge, Alta.

Terrisa Lynch, Niki Triantafillou and Amy Hickey had the UPEI trys. Alysha Corrigan chipped in a penalty kick.

Tamara Dondi and Angela Govier each had two trys for Acadia.
