Shuler, Boucard lead Island squad in loss

MONCTON, N.B. – Corey Allmond had 20 points as seven Moncton Magic players scored double digits to defeat the Island Storm 110-103 Friday in National Basketball League of Canada action.

Former Storm players Wayne McCullough (19 points and eight rebounds) and Nick Evans (13 points and 10 boards) were key for the host Magic while Jason Calliste with 16, Joel Ndondo 14, Duke Mondy 12 and Freddie McSwain Jr. 11 also scored 10 or more points.

Guillaume Boucard had 20 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and a steal to lead the Storm while Dominic Shuler had 20 points and 12 boards. Sampson Carter scored 18 points while Kyle Arsenault went for 15 on 5-for-11 shooting from downtown.

Tyler Scott and Robbie Robinson did not play.

The Magic shot better than the Storm (54 per cent to 34).

Moncton improved to 14-7 while the Storm dropped its second straight to fall to 4-13.

The Storm head to Ontario next week for games against Kitchener-Waterloo on Thursday and London on Saturday.
