at Forest Hills

Sylvia Cole recorded a hole-in-one at the Forest Hills Golf Course in Cavendish recently.
Cole used a No. 9 iron to ace the 80-yard fourth hole.
Bruce Cole and Dave Adams witnessed the ace.

Perry finds back of
net in Tigers’ opener

Forward Coleton Perry of North Bedeque scored in the visiting Campbellton Tigers’ 5-1 road victory over the Edmundston Blizzard in the Maritime Junior Hockey League on Sunday afternoon.
Perry, a third-year Tiger who was recently named an assistant captain, gave Campbellton a 4-1 lead at 11:31 of the second period.
In other league action Sunday, Valley Wildcats goaltender Chad Arsenault of St-Raphael stopped 30 of 36 shots in a 6-1 loss to the South Shore Lumberjacks in Berwick, N.S.

Phoebe van der Muelen scored in the 87th minute to lift the St. Thomas Tommies into a 1-1 tie with the UNBSJ Seawolves in an Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) women’s soccer game in Fredericton, N.B., on Sunday afternoon.
Karlee Duval had given the Seawolves a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute.
A third-year centre-midfielder, van der Muelen is a graduate of Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside.
St. Thomas is 1-0-0 (won-lost-tied) while UNBSJ’s record is 1-0-1.

LaPine sets up both
goals for Hurricanes

Emily LaPine set up both goals in the Holland Hurricanes’ 2-0 victory over the University of King’s College (UKC) Blue Devils on Sunday.
The Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall was the site of the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) women’s soccer contest.
Jazae Smith and Emily Cormier scored in the first 13 minutes to give the Hurricanes control.
Sam MacEachern posted the shutout.
Holland College, which is off to a 2-0-0 (won-lost-tied) start, hosts Dal AC (0-1-1) on Friday at 7 p.m.

rally from two-goal deficit

The Holland Hurricanes rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 tie with the University of King’s College (UKC) Blue Devils in Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) men’s soccer action at the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall on Sunday afternoon.
Kaito Yamamoto scored in the 59th minute and Alex Tougher’s goal in the 79th minute lifted the Hurricanes into the tie.
Will Fitzgerald opened the scoring in the first half and Nick Little’s goal early in the second half staked UKC to a 2-0 lead.
The Hurricanes, who are 2-0-0 (won-lost-tied), host Dal AC (0-2-0) in Cornwall on Friday at 7 p.m. UKC fell to 1-0-1.

Men’s Panthers
fall to Reds

Evan Barker recorded a five-save shutout as the UNB Reds blanked the UPEI Panthers 3-0 in an Atlantic University Sport (AUS) men’s soccer match in Fredericton, N.B., on Sunday afternoon.
Joe Hamilton (18th minute) and Dan Walker (34th minute) scored to send UNB into halftime up 2-0. Tristan Nkoghe closed out the scoring in the 60th minute as UNB improved to 2-1-1 (won-lost-tied).
UPEI (1-3-0) hosts Memorial (0-2-2) on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.

Hurley nets lone
UPEI marker

Madison Hurley scored the UPEI Panthers’ lone goal in a 4-1 road loss to the UNB Reds in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s soccer play n Fredericton, N.B., on Sunday afternoon.
Sylvie Fecteau (2) Clarisse Ramirez and an own goal accounted for UNB’s scoring.
UNB moved back to .500 at 2-2-0 (won-lost-tied) while the Panthers dropped to 0-4-0.
UPEI hosts Memorial (2-1-1) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
