P.E.I. F.C. winless on opening weekend


CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The SoccerStop P.E.I. F.C. went 0-1-1 during the opening weekend of play in the McCain New Brunswick Premier Soccer League.

P.E.I. F.C. lost its first game 3-1 to the Fredericton Reds on Saturday before tying Fundy United 1-1 on Sunday.

Jared Murphy scored Saturday while Austin MacKenzie tallied on Sunday for the Island squad. Keeper Brandon Eagle played both games for P.E.I. F.C.

P.E.I. looks to get into the win column Saturday when it has its home opener against Fundy at 12:30 p.m. at UPEI.

The P.E.I. Canada Games team host Codiac First Touch Friday at 8 p.m. at UPEI.
