Soccer players contribute offensively

CHARLOTTETOWN – Soccer players Sabrina Molnar and Shunya Kobayashi have been named the Holland Hurricanes’ athletes of the week.

Molnar, a third-year winger, earned two assists in helping the Hurricanes earn a 4-0 win over the University King’s College (UKC) Blue Devils in Halifax, N.S., on Sunday. She also had a goal in a 5-1 loss to the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics on Saturday as the Hurricanes sit at 5-3-0 (won-lost-tied) and in third place in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) regular-season standings.
Molnar is studying in the travel and tourism management program, and is from Ottawa, Ont.

Kobayashi, a first-year winger, scored two goals to lead the Hurricanes to a 4-2 win versus MSVU in Halifax on Saturday.
A 1-0 loss to the Blue Devils on Sunday dropped the first-place Hurricanes to 5-2-1.
The five-foot-nine Kobayashi is from Yachiyo, Japan, and is studying in the sport and leisure management program.
Both the men’s and women’s soccer Hurricanes return to action on Wednesday versus the Crandall Chargers at the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall. The women’s game will start at 6 p.m., followed by the men’s contest at 8 p.m.
