SUMMERSIDE – Summerside Intermediate School (SIS) will host its 42nd annual Glenn Edison Memorial tip-off junior basketball tournament this weekend.
The event, which honours the memory of former SIS principal, basketball and volleyball coach, gets underway late Friday afternoon.
A total of 11 teams – six boys and five girls – from across P.E.I. will take part in the two-day event.
The tournament features a round-robin format. In an effort to provide teams with different opposition, as many games as possible will feature an eastern team taking on a western squad.
Games will be played at both the SIS and Athena Consolidated School gymnasiums.

Teams
The Boys Division consists of the host Owls, Birchwood Cobras, Stonepark Tigers, Queen Charlotte Coyotes, M.E. Callaghan Cougars and Athena Hawks.
The participating girls’ teams are SIS, East Wiltshire Warriors, Stonepark, Queen Charlotte and Hernewood.
