Kyle Seager extended his hit streak to 11 games with a go-ahead home run with two out in the eighth inning Saturday afternoon as the visiting Seattle Mariners defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-3.
Austin Nola also homered for the Mariners as the teams split the first two games of the three-game series. Keon Broxton added two sacrifice flies.
Bo Bichette and Reese McGuire homered for the Blue Jays.
Anthony Bass (2-4), who allowed McGuire's tying homer in the seventh, pitched one inning for the win. Matt Magill pitched around a double and struck out three in the ninth to earn his first career save.
Tim Mayza (1-2) allowed Seager's 15th homer of the season to take the loss.
Toronto starter Trent Thornton allowed three runs, five hits and four walks while striking out three in six innings.
Reggie McClain pitched two innings as Seattle's opener, allowing one run, three hits and one walk.
Each team scored once in the second.
Nola had an infield single in the top of the inning, advanced to third on a wild pitch and two walks that loaded the bases and scored on Broxton's sacrifice fly.
Justin Smoak doubled in the bottom of the second and scored on Billy McKinney's single.
Seattle scored twice in the fourth. Nola led off the fourth with his fifth homer of the season. Daniel Vogelbach was given credit for a double when Derek Fisher lost sight of his fly ball to left, took third on Dee Gordon's groundout and scored on Broxton's sacrifice fly.
Cory Gearrin, who had a perfect third after replacing McClain, walked Smoak with two out in the fourth. Taylor Guilbeau replaced him and ended the inning by inducing a groundout in his major-league debut.
Guilbeau allowed Bichette's fifth homer with two out in the fifth. After Cavan Biggio singled, Zac Grotz took over and allowed Brandon Drury's ground-rule double before getting an inning-ending groundout.
Sam Gaviglio replaced Thornton and tossed a perfect seventh.
McGuire led off the bottom of the seventh against Bass with his third homer to tie the game.
Seattle's Sam Tuivailala pitched a perfect bottom of the eighth.
Toronto third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. left the game after two innings with discomfort in his left knee and was replaced by Drury.
