Summerside native Carson MacKinnon scored his 11th goal of the 2018-19 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League regular season on Saturday.
MacKinnon scored the Rimouski Oceanic’s second goal in a 4-2 loss to the host Baie-Comeau Drakkar.
MacKinnon, who was named the game’s third star, improved his point total to 29 in 36 games on the strength of 11 goals and 18 assists.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL, Moncton Wildcats defenceman Jordan Spence of Cornwall earned an assist in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in Sydney, N.S., on Friday night.
Spence, who played last season with the Summerside Western Capitals’ junior A team, went into Sunday’s game in Saint John with 30 points – two goals and 28 helpers – in 37 games.
