SYDNEY, N.S. — In Nova Scotia Under-18 Major Hockey League play this weekend, the Sydney Mitsubishi Rush defeated the Kohltech Valley Wildcats 2-1 at Membertou on Saturday night.

Rush goals were scored by Alex Christmas and Drew MacIntyre while Jacob Gerhardt had the lone marker for the Wildcats. Conor Juurlink suffered the loss in goal while Jack Cashen had the win.

In other weekend play at the Halifax Forum, Halifax McDonalds defeated the Cape Breton West Islanders 5-1. Marcus Larade scored the lone Cape Breton goal while Jake MacDonald, Bryson Boudreau, Jacob Newcombe, Joseph Power and Bailey Shortall delivered for Halifax. Conor Blackwood had the win in goal while Adam Tkacz suffered the loss.
