RESERVE MINES, N.S. — A Cape Breton boxing mentor will travel to Mexico this month with a New Brunswick boxer.

Aubrey MacLeod, originally from Reserve Mines, will accompany Brandon (L-Jack) Brewer to Cuernavaca for his match against Juan Sergio Torres on Dec. 12 at Hotel Holiday Inn.

Brewer participated in the previous two Three Lions Promotions cards in Sydney, and enters the fight with a 24-1-1 record with 11 knockouts.

Meanwhile, Torres, a product of Irapuato, Mexico, has an 8-9-0 record with six knockouts.

The 36-year-old Brewer last fought on Feb. 14 at Centre 200 when he claimed a split decision victory over Mexico’s Josue Castaneda Perez (14-12-3).
