COXHEATH, N.S. — The Red Cup Showcase organizing committee announced earlier this month its tournament award winners.

Joseph Manson of the Northumberland Nighthawks was named the Bob MacKenzie Most Valuable Player Award, while Colten Boutilier of the Glace Bay Panthers was given the goaltending most valuable player.

Chase Sampson of the Riverview Redmen took home the Marty Chiasson Memorial Award, while Jayden Hatchard of Northumberland was given the Barney Peters Memorial Award.

Glace Bay's Connor MacIntyre picked up the committee all-star award, while Panther teammate Xavier Johnson was the tournament's leading scorer.

Matthew Ellis (Dalbare), Brody Bobbert (Sydney Academy), Alec Campbell (Glace Bay), Seth Mattie (Dr. J.H. Gillis), Trevor Jennings (Riverview), Luke Young (Northumberland) and Nolan Ryan (Memorial) were the recipients of the Rudderham's Source for Sports sportsmanship awards.

Northumberland captured the 42nd annual Red Cup Showcase with a 3-2 win over the Glace Bay Panthers.
