NEW WATERFORD, N.S. — The New Waterford Coal Bowl Classic award winners were recently confirmed by the tournament committee.

Haroon Issa of the Silverthorn Spartans was named the most valuable player while Noah Spalding of the Northumberland Nighthawks took home the Coal Bowl spirit award.

Breton Education Centre's Aaron MacLean was awarded the Cody Burke Memorial Hustle Award, Favour Ipaa of Winston Churchill High School was given the Gary McDonald Sportsmanship Award.

BEC players Conor Chiasson and Abby MacNeil were given the Mike Kennedy Award in their respective divisions. Silverthorn's Borko Brusin was the recipient of the tournament's coaches award.
