Kentville's Brette Pettet has a chance to win her second NCAA women's hockey championship.

The University of Wisconsin co-captain helped her team advance to Saturday's championship game against Northeastern University with a 4-2 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday.

Pettet did not register any points in the semifinal against Ohio State but had two shots on goal. The Badgers opened the Final Eight with a 3-0 victory over Providence College on Tuesday. Pettet scored the winning goal.

Wisconsin (16-3-1) enters the final as the No. 2 seed and Providence (22-1-1) is No. 1. The Badgers won the national championship in Pettet's sophomore season in 2019. There was no NCAA tournament last year because of COVID-19 so Wisconsin is the defending champion.

The championship game will be played at Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, Pennsylvania at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
