SYDNEY, N.S. — A former Cape Breton West Islander was recognized for his efforts on the ice during the month of December.
Stephen Fox of Newtown was named the honourable mention for the Maritime Junior Hockey League’s top forward for the month.
The 20-year-old helped lead the Amherst Ramblers to first place in the Eastlink South division, posting five goals and six assists in five games. He currently has a six-game point streak.
Fox, who won a Telus Cup national under-18 championship with the Islanders in 2017, is currently seventh in the league in points (17) and fourth overall in goals (9).
