SYDNEY, N.S. — The Cape Breton Eagles made a trade involving a pair of 20-year-old forwards and multiple draft picks on Wednesday.

The Eagles dealt Shawn Element and Cape Breton's fifth-round draft pick in 2023 in exchange for Félix Paré, Victoriaville's second-round draft pick in 2021, Victoriaville's second-round draft pick in 2023 and Victoriaville's third-round draft pick in 2023.

Element was named Eagles captain at the beginning of the 2020-21 season and recorded 28 points in 15 games this season after notching 38 goals last year.  He was originally acquired from the Acadie-Bathurst Titan during last season's trade period.

Paré has collected three points through eight games this season after a 31-point campaign during the 2019-20 season. This is his fourth full season in the QMJHL.

The QMJHL's 2020-21 trade period concludes at noon on Jan. 25, 2021.
