SYDNEY, N.S. — A Cape Breton Eagles prospect has been traded in the Maritime Junior Hockey League.

Forward Alex Cormier had his junior 'A' rights traded from the Campbellton Tigers, along with a second-round pick in 2021, to the Grand Falls Rapids for the rights to William Champagne.

The 17-year-old, who was selected by the Eagles in the 10th-round in 2019 and recently released from the team's training camp, played 35 games with the Moncton Flyers of the New Brunswick/Prince Edward Island Major Midget Hockey League.

The Dieppe, N.B., product posted 12 goals and 26 points with the Flyers during the season. He also played two games with the Tigers during the 2019-20 campaign.
