Cape Breton Eagles defenceman Jarrett Baker is among the team’s leadership core for the 2020-21 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season. SYDNEY, N.S. — A Cape Breton Eagles player has been recognized by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for his performance on the ice last week.

Defenceman Jarrett Baker was named to the league's team of the week for the period running Oct. 5-11.

The Black Rock, Victoria County, product finished the week posting a goal and three assists in two games against the Charlottetown Islanders at Centre 200 in Sydney.

The 20-year-old sits third among QMJHL defenceman in points (6) in four games, only behind Charlottetown's Lukas Cormier (eight points) and teammate Nathan Larose (six points).

Other players named to the QMJHL team of the week include forwards Antonin Verreault (Gatineau), Xavier Simoneau (Drummondville), Marvik Bourque (Shawinigan) as well as defenceman Vincent Sevigny (Victoriaville) and goaltender Francesco Lapenna (Drummondville).
