SYDNEY, N.S. — Baseball and softball players may soon be hitting the field in Nova Scotia.

Baseball Nova Scotia and Softball Nova Scotia can return to competition this summer, this after many believed the season could be lost because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both organizations will need to complete a review with Sport Nova Scotia and CCH prior to officially moving into Phase 2.

Discussions are expected to begin early this week.

In Cape Breton, some minor baseball associations have already cancelled their 2020 seasons including the New Waterford Minor Baseball Association.

Meanwhile, recreational leagues are preparing for the possible return. Teams have already started confirming their participation in various island-wide leagues.
