Whenever the Newfoundland Growlers resume play, they know what they’ll be wearing for their “blue” moods.
On Monday, the Growlers revealed the design of their new "Leafs Night" jersey, with a look that’s a nod Newfoundland’s NHL parent ream, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
These alternate jerseys will be worn by the Growlers for their 'Leafs Nights' games in the upcoming ECHL season, which is tentatively set to begin Jan. 15. The dates for those special games have not been announced.
The Growlers have already highlighted the Leafs’ impact on pro hockey here with special third jerseys, having worn throwback St. John's Maple Leaf uniforms last season, but this latest design is unique, with the “Growlers” wordmark adorned front and centre on the jersey in blue, bordered above and below in staple regiment gold lining.
An outline of the Toronto Maple Leafs logo is featured on each shoulder of the jersey. The sleeves are lined with three white stripes inspired by designs from Toronto’s jersey history and representative of the organization's current three-teamed system involving the Maple Leafs, AHL Marlies and Growlers.
Only 115 jerseys will be made, with each jersey sold being individually numbered. Pre-orders for purchases can be made at https://shop.nlgrowlers.com/
